TE Connectivity’s Supply Chain Managers are responsible for the timely, cost-effective procurement, inventory control, planning and quality control of production materials. They ensure the availability of materials in the supply chain, as scheduled, and the maintenance of inventory at the established levels. They coordinate and integrate the flow of materials and information among suppliers, manufacturers, distributors and customers, identifying opportunities for improving efficiency, effectiveness and capabilities of the supply chain. Resources are focused on continuous improvement of the movement of materials through production processes, and the establishment of key performance metrics and benchmarks to monitor actual performance against goals.
Responsible for production planning, scheduling and inventory control by using SAP. Interface closely with Production and all plant support groups to ensure activities are defined accurately and executed effectively.
Partner with production to develop a Production plan (HEIJUNKA) that meets customer service requirements while maintaining minimum inventory and optimal manufacturing cost.
Monitor the production output on daily basis and make sure it meets the plan and highlight any discrepancies.
Creates and releases Production Orders with awareness of customer request dates, component and capacity availability, and any other resource issues needed to support on-time delivery to internal and external customers.
Manage daily MRP exception reports for purchased in-house produced components supporting manufacturing schedules and Finished Goods while optimizing on-hand inventory and meeting service requirements. Execute all MRP exception messages (07,10,15,20,96).
Advises on availability date of finished products to Customer Service teams. Confirms all unconfirmed customer orders in SAP.
Place purchase order with suppliers (including subcontracting products) in response to planning requirements and hand over Purchase Order to tactical buyer for further fulfilment.
Manage inventory levels in order to maximize inventory turns and ensure appropriate levels of production materials while minimizing waste, obsolescence and excess materials. Align with the Tactical/Strategic buyer the appropriate purchase quantities and requirements dates to balance both service level and inventory. Ensures supplied component levels reflect production requirements based on customer requirements, management goals and objectives, availability of materials, capacity of equipment, etc.
Actively manage Slow Moving and Excess & Obsolete stock utilizing established business processes and systems
Research analyse root causes of late deliveries of finished goods in support of corrective actions needed to drive delivery improvement. Able to perform similar actions proactively for future demand.
Maintain appropriate material master data in SAP (MRP Views).
Maintains historical production and order data in support of performance reporting and operational financial planning.
Forecast Raw Material and components to Tactical Buyer (ultimate point of need: suppliers)
Highlight BOM Routing errors when encountered and follow up until resolved with Manufacturing Engineering
Work with QA to ensure timely release of finished goods & WIPs, coordinating and scheduling reworks as necessary
Review and manage long and short-term equipment capacities for assigned resources using OEE information to ensure that capacities are updated and accurate and that run sizes are minimal and appropriate
Participation in weekly,monthly Production Meetings to review and agree production requirements
Elevate production issues to manager, work for resolution and execute the determined course of action.
Maintain good communication with all other departments and customers, inclusive of completing order progress reports and timely status reports & progress meetings
Ship out finished products to meet customer requirements while minimising cost of premium freight under strong alignment with Supply Chain Manager in case of express shipments.
Coordinate and expedite to Tactical Buyer components delivery to support the Material Requirements Plan. Work with Tactical Buyer to ensure components are available to support the production schedule, expediting / de-expediting as appropriate.
